Transcriptable supports the two most common foot pedals, the Infinity USB Digital Foot Control with Computer Plug and the Altoedge USB Foot Pedal. 90% of transcriptionists use one of these two foot pedals.
Infinity USB Digital Foot Control with Computer plug
This is probably the cheapest foot pedal you can get, and is a great value for the price. It’s alsothe most common foot pedal in use by far. If you don’t know which foot pedal to get, this is a safe bet. Uses USB, so it works with nearly computer.
AltoEdge USB Foot Pedal
While less commonly used, Transcriptable is also compatible with this foot pedal. Like the Infinity, Altoedge also uses USB, so while we recommend the Infinity for the price advantage, this one will work just as well.
How can i tell what foot pedal i have?
Look at the top of your foot pedal. Does it say “Infinity” or “AltoEdge?” If it does, you have a compatible foot pedal. If you’re unsure, you probably have one of these. Other foot pedals exist, but are very uncommon.
